Quick, delicious, and packed with flavor, Pasta con Salsa di Tonno makes for a perfect dinner tonight!
Start by bringing a pot of salted water to a boil. Once boiling, add 200 grams of pasta and cook according to the package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes.
While the pasta cooks, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Peel and finely chop 2 cloves of garlic. Add the garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until it is fragrant, but be careful not to let it brown.
Add 200 grams of halved cherry tomatoes to the skillet. Stir and cook for about 5-7 minutes until the tomatoes start to soften.
Once the pasta is ready, reserve about 1 cup of the pasta cooking water, then drain the pasta and add it directly to the skillet with the tomatoes.
Add the drained canned tuna, breaking it up gently with a fork. Toss everything together, adding reserved pasta cooking water as needed to create a light sauce.
Tear the basil leaves and toss them in, then season with salt and black pepper to taste. Cook everything together for another 2-3 minutes on low heat.
Serve immediately, topping with extra basil if desired.
