Elevate your taco night with these crispy, flavorful fish tacos that are both satisfying and refreshing!
In a bowl, mix together 1/2 cup of mayo, the juice of 1 lime, 2 tablespoons of hot sauce, 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, and salt and pepper to taste to create the sauce. Set this aside in the fridge to chill for about 10 minutes.
While the sauce is chilling, take the 1 pound of white fish and cut it into strips. In a separate bowl, combine 1 teaspoon of paprika, 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, and 1/2 teaspoon of pepper. Coat the fish strips with this seasoning blend thoroughly.
Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add a drizzle of oil. Once hot, place the seasoned fish strips into the skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side until the fish is crispy and cooked through.
As the fish cooks, prepare the toppings. Finely shred 1 cup of cabbage and chop 1/2 cup of cilantro. Squeeze the juice of the remaining lime over the cabbage and mix well.
Warm the corn tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave for about 30 seconds until soft and pliable.
Once the fish is done and the sauce is chilled, it’s time to assemble the tacos. Take a warm tortilla, add a few strips of fish, top with seasoned cabbage and sprinkle chopped cilantro.
Drizzle a generous amount of the sauce over the top and serve with lime wedges on the side.
