There's nothing more comforting than a warm bowl of Đậu Nành Hầm to nourish your body and soul tonight!
Rinse 1 cup soybeans under cold water and soak them in a bowl for at least 3-4 hours, or overnight if possible.
After soaking, drain the soybeans and place them in a pot.
Add 4 cups of water to the pot and bring to a boil over medium heat.
Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and add 3 cloves of minced garlic, 1 chopped onion, and 1 diced carrot to the pot.
Stir in 1 teaspoon of salt and 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper.
Cover the pot and let it simmer for about 45 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the soybeans are tender.
While it cooks, chop 2 stalks of green onion to use as a garnish.
Once cooked, taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
Serve hot in bowls, garnished with green onions.
