Cabbage Roll Ups are the ultimate comfort food that brings warmth and nostalgia to your dinner table with every delicious bite!
Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large pot of boiling salted water, carefully remove the core of the cabbage and submerge the head in the water for about 5 minutes until the leaves soften. Remove the cabbage and let it cool.
While the cabbage is cooling, heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté for about 3-4 minutes until the onion becomes translucent.
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, cooked rice (either pre-cooked or soaked as per rice package instructions), sautéed onions, salt, pepper, and parsley. Mix well until combined.
Once cooled, peel off the cabbage leaves carefully. Place about 2-3 tablespoons of the meat mixture into each leaf. Roll it tightly, tucking in the sides.
Place the cabbage rolls seam-side down in a baking dish. Sprinkle any leftover meat mixture over the rolls.
Pour the tomato sauce evenly over the cabbage rolls, ensuring they are well covered.
Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 50 minutes. This will allow the flavors to meld beautifully.
After baking, remove the foil and allow to cool for a few minutes before serving.
