In a large mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth. This should take about 3 minutes.
Melt the butter and let it cool slightly. Add the melted butter to the mashed bananas and mix well.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. This should take about 2 minutes.
Incorporate the dry ingredients into the banana mixture, stirring gently to combine, but do not overmix. This will take about 2 minutes.
In a small bowl, beat the eggs and vanilla extract together. Fold this mixture gently into the batter for another 2 minutes until just combined.
Pour the batter into a greased loaf pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
Bake in the preheated oven for about 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Once baked, let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
