Start by washing the spinach thoroughly under running water to remove any grit. Then, place the spinach in a pot with a little water and boil for about 2-3 minutes until wilted. Drain and blend it into a smooth puree. Set aside.
Heat oil in a large pan over medium heat. Once hot, add cumin seeds and allow them to crackle for about 30 seconds.
Add finely chopped onion to the pan and sauté for about 5-7 minutes until the onion turns golden brown.
