Start by boiling a large pot of salted water. Add 200 grams of spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes.
While the spaghetti cooks, zest both lemons and then juice them to get about 1/4 cup of lemon juice.
In a large pan, heat 3 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add the lemon zest and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
Once the pasta is cooked, reserve about 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
Add the drained spaghetti to the pan with the lemon zest and mix well. If it seems dry, add some reserved pasta water until you reach your desired consistency.
Stir in the lemon juice and grated parmesan cheese. Mix until the cheese melts and creates a creamy sauce.
Season with black pepper and salt to taste. If desired, garnish with fresh basil before serving.
